I only know Japanese regulations.
In Japan, there is no regulation on individual sizes, unfortunately. I think we should have.
There are national regulations to limit the total harvest volume on certain fish species in certain areas. But none of these game fish is restricted.
There is a self-imposed control campaign here in Okinawa not to take fish like Variola louti and Cephalopholis sonnerati under 25cm and fish like Plectropomus leopardus under 35cm.
