It’s one of very popular high quality fish in Okinawa. It has a soft and sticky delicacy. Very popular sashimi.
It stays soft and juicy with a silky texture even when heated. It doesn’t have the fattiest meat or the best Umami, it simply suits everyone’s tongue.

I agree 120% with you regarding this fish….aka Goldband snapper aka Angkohli ( Hokkien name )
very versatile fish, never tried the sashimi form though. In Singapore , the head of this fish is a favourite for Spicy fish head curry.
